Snow Reports
Snow Reports for Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt and The Remarkables are posted daily on this website, are available in print from most accommodation providers and retailers in Queenstown and Methven, and are broadcasted on radio stations in most South Island main centres each morning through the season. These reports are updated throughout each day as conditions change. They are accurate at the time of reporting however conditions are subject to rapid change at times.
These daily snow report gives you the snow & weather conditions, road conditions & chain requirements, boundary & closure information, tells you which lifts and facilities are operating, and any other pertinent information for the day. Check this before you head up the mountain. To the best of our ability, we endeavour to give you the most accurate and updated information for the snow reports to help you make the most of your day skiing or riding.
Mountain Etiquette
Ski Area Boundaries
Any lift or boundary closures will be indicated on the day by our Ski Patrol team, and please be respectful of all closures. If you are not sure, please ask at the Guest Services office on the mountain.
Slow Zones
Slow zones are designated areas where two or more trails converge or areas that are used by a high percentage of beginners and children. Slow zones are indicated with bright signage, and please respect these areas by keeping your speed down.
Lifts
Our lifts access certain terrain that suits different ability levels - to be sure you have the right lift pass to access the type of lift and terrain for your skiing/riding ability, ask our Guest Services staff. When riding a lift always ensure the safety bar is lowered on your chair. If you are unsure about the lift, just ask the nearest Lift Operator to slow it down for you. All lifts operate between 9am-4pm daily, weather & snow conditions permitting.
Night Skiing
Coronet Peak offers Night Skiing on Friday and Saturday nights until 9pm (weather & conditions permitting). This is a great winter experience however there are limitations on terrain and lit area. When Night Skiing stay within the lit area which is clearly marked and obey all signage. When Night Skiing, peripheral vision is diminished which decreases your ability to judge speed so often you go faster than you think. Excessive speed is dangerous so remember to ski or ride in control to get the most enjoyment out of your Night Skiing.
